PHYSIOTHERAPY AT CLINIQUE MÉDICALE PHYSERGO DU SUD-OUEST –
THE PHYSERGO MEDICAL CLINIC (SOUTH-WEST)

Physiotherapy is a health discipline that focuses on prevention, maintenance, optimal functional recovery of the psychological, neurological, sensory and motor skill capacity that takes into account the client's environment, through exercises, manual therapy as well as other physical agents, namely:
electricity, heat, water, sound and cold. At Physergo, a team
of physiotherapists treats clients with musculosketal disorders.
Working in close collaboration with other health-care workers involved in the case,
the physiotherapists optimize their interventions by adopting a holistic approach
to treatment. Aware of the importance of keeping abreast of the latest developments in the field, our team specializes in the most modern therapeutic approaches.

GPR is a specialized branch of physiotherapy. With this approach,
it is possible to treat any musculoskeletal disorder. Contrary to conventional physiotherapy, which treats problems successively,
GPR treats problems simultaneously (all at the same time when they
are interrelated). For example, when treating a sprained ankle,
the knee and hip, which compensate for the limp, are also treated.
The treatment consists in assessing which positions) cause the most severe problems, either pain, discomfort, deformation or even stiffness. From these positions, the corrections are made gradually, at the client's own pace. The secondary beneficial effects, in addition to pain relief,
can be:

Muscular flexibility

Mobility of the joints

Relaxation of the diaphragm which allows more efficient breathing

Improvement of posture

Prevention of recurrence

The Biodex System 3 can be used for the evaluation of muscular strength as well as for muscular rehabilitation.

Evaluation of muscular strength:
This equipment lets us objectively measure the strength of specific muscle groups. Strength can be measured statically or dynamically.
The data obtained is processed by computer and a clear, complete report is generated. The use of this apparatus is inscribed within the framework of a program to evaluate the functional capacity for work-related tasks.

Muscular rehabilitation:
Further to the identification of deficiencies through evaluation, the Biodex is used for isolating the group of muscles affected in order to enable its efficient rehabilitation. This equipment is particularly suited in the case
of sports-related injuries.
